My Adepticon Army/Display

Well, here is the reason I haven't posted anything for a bit. Mike and I are heading in less than 24 hours...so here goes;

The camera doesn't capture it but all of the fire effects are flickering LEDs, so they look like real fire. I also have a soundtrack that plays in the background (DOW Marine music). The fire burning behind the stained glass in the building...is actually individual wreck markers I can remove when my vehicles blow up (Turned off, they simulate me popping smoke, turned on...well the rhino is dead!);

The display itself is a picture frame with MDF mounted via velcro. So after Adepticon I can pop this display out and put it on my cityfight board...then next year make another display and 'pop' that new one in. I might post an article on that for those whom want to make their own displays. Anyways, looking forward to Adepticon this year...I'll be adding my nick (AgeOfEgos) to my badge...so be sure to say hi!

Let me be the first to say that you have created a truly amazing display board here and I'm officially jealous.

Do you integrate this into your terrain board when you play as well? I can see this making for a great final defence line scenario where the marines must hold at all cost.

This looks great, the display, the army, the effects. I look forward to getting a closer look. Is this your army for the Championship?

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. Yeah, this is my army for the 40k championship. I'm not too sure it will be competitive, considering what build sacrifices I had to make...to play with the toys I wanted to. :)

My name is Ryan and I'll be sure to include my nick on my badge, make sure to say hi!

Hey, wait a moment..I just realized it's 'that' Dave Taylor...hah, that's a hell of a compliment coming from someone with your experience/talent/armies! Thanks again and make sure to say hi at the Con.

I did the display board in the picture frame. I haven't used my display board much since, or that picture frame. I've switched to breakfast trey, and I really want a breakfast trey with legs next.

Good work and good luck!
